Little has been altered inside or outdoors, and the house features original wooden shutters, an oak staircase and original fireplaces, as well as antiques and artwork. Your comfort is assured with a range of well-furnished bedrooms, each with its own en-suite facilities, with special attention paid to detail and quality. The house is set in just under half an acre of sloping informal gardens, with patio and sun terrace as well as a guest lounge and honesty bar.

Your Ideal Base

The Old Vicarage is ideal for walking and hiking, cycling and outdoor pursuits as well as a touring base - and we have been accredited under Visit Wales' Walkers Welcome, Bikers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome schemes.  Located in the Wye Valley at the centre of Powys, mid-Wales, Llangurig, at 300 metres above sea level, is one of the highest villages in Wales. At the junction of the A470 and the A44, lying on The Cambrian Way (one of the Wales Way routes), we are a short distance from the market towns of Llanidloes and Rhayader as well as the coast at Aberystwyth.  Llangurig is the first village on the River Wye which rises, with the Severn, in the Plynlimon hills some six miles away and the view from the top of Plynlimon (2465ft) is outstanding.  We are on the Wye Valley Walk, the Trans-Cambrian Way and a range of walking and cycling routes, as well as being close to the SweetLamb complex.  We are able to offer secure cycle storage.
